Invest in yourself and your clients by building skill, confidence, and competence in providing trauma-informed care!

This group is for students and pre-licensed individuals seeking LMFT/LPC/LPCC licensure in MN.
You see all the moving pieces, yet it’s hard to fully conceptualize a case. You watch a client struggle and nothing you say seems to help them regulate. You notice yourself feeling a little confused or foggy and try to shake it off before your next session. While listening to a client all of a sudden you’re reminded of something that happened to you, and you clench your jaw and try to refocus.
Want to feel more equipped next time any of these things happen?
In this online retreat, we’ll explore complex cases and self-of-the-therapist insights from a trauma, neuroscience, parts, and attachment-informed foundation.
Saturday, January 28, 2023
8:00 am – 4:00 pm
$35 hour/$280 for day
The retreat will take place online, via a secure video meeting platform.
You must have an identified primary supervisor to attend this group.
Supervisees are expected to attend the full day.
Content:
Topics and themes we will consider during case consultation include:
- Various trauma modalities and interventions
- Impact of trauma on brains and bodies
- Intergenerational transmission of trauma
- Sociocultural factors
- Ethics of trauma work
- Self-awareness/self-of-the-therapist
- Regulation for clients and therapists
- Vicarious trauma
- Psychoeducation
Each supervisee will be expected to present a case for consultation, including a client genogram. The retreat will be an 8-hour structured format, with a “working lunch.” Ideas related to trauma treatment will be discussed, but please be aware that this is not intended as an informational course in trauma, and is not a substitute for further educational training in working with various populations.
Though this retreat will be grounded in self-of-the-therapist awareness and principles, it is not therapy. If you are unsure of your readiness to attend this group based on your own trauma history, please hold off on registering or reach out for more guidance.
